Landslide Chute – Japanese Mountain Goat Nihon Kamoshika

I discovered this old landslide chute in a very remote and rarely visited area in the mountains of central Japan. We know that this structure is quite old as it uses river stones for construction instead of the preferred modern material concrete. The GPS screen shot at the end was captured in the area of the ice pack.

The animal which was following me in this video is a Japanese Mountain Goat (capricornis crispus). This animal is called Nihon Kamoshika in Japan where it prefers steep sided mountains and dense forests.
